Mountaineers of Iceland · Langjökull east side, then Flúðir
A super truck takes you from Reykjavík to Langjökull for an hour on a shared snowmobile, then to the Secret Lagoon in Flúðir to thaw out in natural hot water. Pick it if you want the cold and the warm in one day and a guide who stays with your small group throughout.

Mountaineers of Iceland picks you up from a Reykjavík bus stop in a big-wheeled super truck and heads east, past the Geysir area, to its Langjökull base camp. You pull on a thermal coverall, hat, gloves and helmet, and ride about an hour on a two-person snowmobile, swapping driver and passenger at a photo stop halfway. After the ride comes lunch at a restaurant on the way down, then the Secret Lagoon.
The Secret Lagoon (Gamla laugin) in Flúðir is a natural hot spring pool, quieter and plainer than the Blue Lagoon, with a little geyser bubbling beside it. After an hour on the ice, a soak is the best part of the day for many reviewers. Bring a swimsuit; you can rent one there at your own cost. The listing includes a towel.
Read the small print before you pay. The itinerary says the lagoon visit is "(own expense)", while the inclusions list a towel at the lagoon, and older reviews say entry was included. Check on the checkout page or ask the operator whether the entrance ticket is in your price. Lunch and breakfast are not included. The listing caps the group at 15 (its own copy says 10), but on the glacier groups merge, and one 2022 reviewer counted nearly 40 riders.
Your super truck collects you at a marked bus stop for the 9:00 start. Bring a swimsuit.
East past the Geysir hot springs, then off-road towards Langjökull, with a comfort stop on the way.
Coverall and helmet on, a briefing, then an hour on the ice with a photo stop to swap drivers.
A restaurant on the way down. Food is at your own cost.
Soak in the hot spring pool before the drive back to Reykjavík, arriving around 7 pm.
★★★★★By the afternoon, my arms and legs were starting to ache. A soak in the secret lagoon was so welcome and relaxing. We had ample time at the lagoon before returning back to our hotels.
★★★★★After the snowmobiling, adrenaline rush, the visit to the Secret Lagoon was the perfect way to wind down. Based in a quiet rural setting, the lagoon felt very authentic and peaceful.
★★★★★Guide got ahead of the crowds so whizzing across virgin snow on snowmobiles. Highlight of our holiday. Only downsize, fingertip painfully cold after 10 minutes. Take liner gloves to wear inside theirs.
